8 Ways to Potentiate Kratom High

8 WAYS TO POTENTIATE KRATOM HIGH

As we've covered in the past, kratom can get you high AF. But a lot of user want to know how to achieve a kratom high and how to sustain it. Here we will talk about different methods by which to unlock the kratom high and get it to work like gangbusters.

TAKE BREAKS

The number one way to potentiate kratom is to take a break for a few days after your initial kratom use. This helps the user to avoid building up a tolerance. Likewise, it is ill-advised for kratom users to take kratom dosages more than once per day.

Frequent daily doses can also result in tolerance and addiction. By cycling your dosage, you can eliminate the potential for tolerance and abuse and, also, increase the effects of kratom's active alkaloids.

CYCLING STRAINS

There are several different strains of kratom and each of them contains unique alkaloids that are responsible for kratom's effects. As you may have heard, some strains have more efficacy in the area of pain relief while others are more effective as a sedative or sleep aid.

This is because of the different alkaloids contained within each strain. By cycling strains, using a different one each time you take kratom, you may reduce your tolerance to your favorite strain.

As one user on Reddit has said, “Cycling strains works like magic...I do kratom 4-5x/week between 4-5 strains. I take two days off kind of randomly. I never feel addicted if I don't have it.”

Others have suggested that cycling with Phenibut can also help to prevent tolerance.

TOLERANCE BLOCKING SUPPLEMENTS

There are a couple different tolerance blocking options available, Agmatine sulphate being chief among them. Some have called this one a “game changer” and with good reason. One user reported a steady increase in kratom tolerance, a habit that became expensive.

Eventually, said user discovered Agmatine and it changed his life. He writes, “I ordered Agmatine Sulfate out of curiosity to see if it would help with nerve pain that I experience, which it did. Within 20-30 minutes of taking the agmatine, it also altered and boosted the effects of the Kratom to where it felt more reminiscent of oxycodone in a way.

“So at this point, I'm taking slightly less [kratom] due to the potentiation, and I figured I'm going to have to be stuck taking this combination to satisfy my tolerance, but at least I'm consuming a bit less kratom.”

Other substances that are good for blocking the kratom tolerance include Mematine in tandem with a low dose of DXM (Dextromethorphan) as they act as NMDA antagonists for drug tolerance and can also serve as neuroprotective agents.

Studies show that this combination can provide real results for those suffering from addiction and neurological disorders.

Black seed oil is another worthy supplement for blocking kratom tolerance. Users have called it a “potent potentiator,” with one user writing, “I just took around 30 grams of Bali, which normally would not do much, and drank 2 tablespoons of cold-pressed, organic Nigella Sativa oil (this is a VERY large amount, recommended on the bottle is 2tsp, so I don't necessarily advise this, especially if you have hypotension).

“The effect of the kratom is multiplied a MINIMUM of twofold, and it is also qualitatively different (the nature of the high is more euphoric and not just stronger).”

SUPPLEMENTS THAT DIRECTLY POTENTIATE KRATOM

Some users take Tagamet (Cimetidine) with a glass of orange juice to potentiate kratom. While Tagamet is not an opioid, it has helped kratom users by indirectly blocking the catabolic effects of one enzyme that breaks down kratom metabolism.

Users typically take Tagamet an hour before kratom consumption for the best results. Users have reported a “strong euphoria” when ingesting Tagamet in conjunction with kratom. This is no surprise as Tagamet is an antihistamine and antihistamines can often elicit a sedative high.

AVOID SMOKING

The key ingredient in cigarettes is nicotine which is something you want to stay away from when taking kratom. Not only is nicotine bad for you but it also accelerates the metabolism of kratom and its sub-alkaloids.

Some have even reported feeling nauseous while smoking cigarettes on kratom with one user writing, “I almost had to throw up a few times while smoking on kratom.”

TAKE VALERIAN ROOT

To induce a kratom high, you must trigger the CYP2D6 enzyme. Those who are deficient in CYP generally experience no significants effects when taking kratom. One supplement that is said to induce CYP2D6 enzyme is Valerian, a powder form of the Valerian root.

Valerian supplements come from a perennial flowering plant whose leaves have been implemented in the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. The supplement is well-regarded as a natural stress reliever and users often tout it for its ability to induce a state of calm.

For this reason as well as the aforementioned triggering of the CYP enzyme, Valerian is a viable option for potentiation of kratom high.

ADD OTHER HERBS TO YOUR KRATOM TEA

Users who take white vein kratom strains should consider adding yerba mate to their kratom tea to get the most out of kratom's energizing effects. Yerba mate has qualities that are similar to caffeine. It is renowned for its ability to increase mental focus and serve as a powerful organic stimulant.

The xanthine innate to yerba mate is responsible for this stimulating effect which can work in concert with kratom's active alkaloids (7-mitragynine, et al.) to keep your energy level up.

Alternately, if you are taking red vein kratom strains, passion flower and chamomile are good choices to add to the mix. These wonderful herbs mimic the soothing effects of these kratom strains.

At least one user has combined kratom and passion flower with the powerful Ayurvedic herb which acts as an adaptogen. In an Erowid post, one user says he took all three herbs together at 1 in the afternoon and felt the effects within an hour.

“All of a sudden [I] start feeling a mild euphoria and a smile sprouts on my face because I know the effects have started,” he writes.

“I start to feel my muscles feel calmly stimulated and all my thoughts in my head and tension in my body disappear. I feel no pain from a minor skateboarding accident (cuts, scrapes, and bruises only).

“The sun seems so bright and all the trees seem so strong. All colors of living things and bright colors are enhanced and brightened.”

Other common kratom potentiators include Cat's Claw, caffeine, turmeric and cayenne pepper. Turmeric is said to increase kratom's half life, expanding the duration of its effects. Likewise, cayenne pepper has a reputation for providing a spike in kratom's effects.

For those who are taking kratom for its analgesic properties, Cat's Claw is the ideal supplement because, as one user pointed out, “The mental effects felt stronger than 4g [of kratom].” This is due in no small part to the fact that Cat's Claw possesses psychoactive properties and, thus, can magnify kratom's own psychoactive qualities.

JUICING

No, we're not talking about shooting yourself up with steroids here. We're talking about whipping out the old juicer and blending yourself up a nice kratom smoothie. The key ingredient here is grapefruit juice.

Grapefruit juice contains an enzyme which can increase the duration of opiates and opiate-like substances. However, as some experts have suggested, this may be dangerous as it can increase effects by as much as 10-fold. Many kratom users mix grapefruit juice into their kratom drink for this reason.

CONCLUSION

There are several ways in which one can achieve a stronger and longer lasting kratom high, but users should take proper precautions when experimenting with these options. Always keep an eye out for any undesirable side effects.
