Much has been written about the massively popular Maeng Da and the mainstay Red Bali, but not nearly as much attention has been given to Vietnam Kratom. We aim to remedy that with today’s post, a comprehensive look at each Vietnam strain and its purported effects.
While Yellow Vietnam Kratom has become a mainstay in the Western marketplace, we’ll take a closer look at the green, red and white vein forms of Vietnam Kratom. After we’re finished, I think you’ll agree that each of them has their own special things to offer.

Vietnam Kratom describes any kratom strain that is grown in the wilds of Vietnam. Kratom has been harvested all across Vietnam for centuries, but more recently, kratom vendors have hooked up with dedicated and talented farmers who cultivate kratom along the Mekong River where the mineral-rich soil and the tropical climate of the Lower Mekong Basin produce a distinct iteration of the kratom plant.
The kratom leaves of the Vietnam strain are rich in color and dense in the plant’s key indole alkaloids, such as mitragynine, mitraphylline and 7-hydroxymitragynine.
So how does each kratom vein color differ? And what distinguishes them from one another? I thought you’d never ask. ; )
Green vein kratom strains are almost always more nootropic than other forms of kratom. Users report sharpened focus, increased concentration and improved mood. In the case of Green Vietnam, it is especially stimulating. This is due, in no small part, to the high concentrations of Isomitraphylline, Isorhynchophylline and Speciofoline.
Green Vietnam’s supposed effects include analgesia, cognitive enhancement, an increase in clean energy and stress relief. It has also been used to manage depression, although it is not approved for medicinal use by the FDA.
Wild Red Vietnam is often sourced from mature kratom trees in the Sekadau district where significant rainfall contributes to the accelerated maturation of kratom leaves and the voluminous alkaloid profile of the same.
Red Vietnam is a sophisticated strain with 25% more alkaloids than other forms of kratom. A strain for both body and mind, it induces a general sense of well-being as well as mild euphoria at certain dosages.
Like Green Vietnam, it is known to possess nootropic properties along with stress-relieving, muscle-relaxing qualities. Where Red Vietnam really stands out is in its purported ability to make users more motivated and active.
A terrific choice for the athletic user who intends to hammer through a number of reps at the gym, Red Vietnam’s effects include increased endurance, clean energy boost and improved mood. Its natural anti-inflammatory alkaloids may also assist with post-workout fatigue and joint pain.
White Vietnam functions similarly to Red Vietnam in that it is an extremely energetic strain, but this one is a touch more intense than its sister strains. White Vietnam dosage is generally far smaller than the others and hits users more quickly.
All Vietnam strains tend to have a longer duration than traditional strains, but this one in particular is pretty long-lasting. Most users report effects lasting in excess of six hours. This one is ideal for those who are burning kratom to achieve a balance of euphoria and jubilation.
This really all boils down to your individual needs; some people come to the world of kratom for relief from lower back pain while others come to it for a quick pick-me-up. Still others are in search of a natural herb for increased focus.
If you’re in the market for a strain that will help you buckle down on your studies or complete a complex work project, Green Vietnam is probably the right strain for you. On the other hand, if it’s jitter-free stimulation that you’re after, Red Vietnam might be your best bet.
But if you’re looking for noteworthy euphoria and an Ayurvedic that will instill cheerfulness and calm, you can’t go wrong with White Vietnam.
Users have been raving about Vietnam for quite some time and you’ll find no shortage of colorful posts about people’s experiences with these strains. To save you some time, I’ve compiled a small portion of these insights below.
On the subject of Green Vietnam, one user wrote: “Of the strains I’ve tried, green Vietnam seems to be the most effective…”
Red Vietnam has been described as one of the faster reds available. By and large, the white variant is the most popular. As one user explains, “The white vietnam is the only white I’ve ever found I can take due to anxiety and it’s phenomenal. Very clean/relaxing energy.”
I should preface this by saying that I’ve only ever had Red Vietnam once, so I may not be the best judge of this particular strain. That being said, the Wild Red Vietnam from Kats Botanicals really got the job done. I ordered it during one of my coffee binges where I wanted to cut caffeine out of my daily diet and replace it with something equally stimulating. Not only was a moderate dose of Wild Red Vietnam more stimulating than the strongest cup of coffee, it was also exceptionally nootropic in nature. It’s a great strain for weekdays when you need to be productive.
I’ve long espoused green vein kratom because of its clean energy boost and cognitive enhancement. Alas, I was not as impressed with the Green Vietnam kratom powders I tried (I’ve sampled it from three different vendors who shall remain nameless). It was effective, to be sure, but not nearly as effective as I would have hoped. At a dosage of 4.5 grams, it hardly made an impact.
White Vietnam would definitely be my go-to strain as it induced significant effects at a lower dosage. At just 2.5 grams, I felt intense elation and excitement; its euphoria was every bit as remarkable as that of Dark Brown Bentuangie or Green Maeng Da.
All of these strains may offer substantive results, but no two Vietnam strains are created equal. As I trust you’ll find, each one commands respect for very different reasons. Burn each to figure out what’s best for you. Happy Kbombing, boys and girls! ; )
