Bikhuk Kratom Review: An International Vendor You Should Avoid

Bikhuk Kratom is among the largest International kratom vendors, but their name has become synonymous with the kratom ban thanks to a number of packages being seized and demolished by customs officials.

Despite their partnership with a number of distributors and retailers, they have disappointed customers left and right with their unreliable shipments and shipping limitations.

This wasn’t always the case; as you can well imagine, you don’t become a famous brand by failing to satisfy consumers. There was a time when Bikhuk Kratom had risen to the top of the heap. This all began to change around 2015 when the DEA began seizing batches of kratom powder and the FDA ramped up their efforts to prevent citizens from using the leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa plant.

These issues led the community to ask questions. “Is Bikhuk still legit?” one Reddit user wondered. The response was rather troubling with one person saying, “You can only order from their domestic website, and their quality is terrible for the price. The market has come a long way in the last few years and they haven’t kept up. If anything, they’ve moved backwards…everyone I know who has ordered from them recently regretted it.”

In the interest of fairness, I decided to take a fair and balanced look at this seller so that our readers can get a well-rounded overview of Bikhuk without simply reading user experiences.

This vendor is located in Jakarta, Indonesia where they have been harvesting wildcrafted mitra leaves since as far back as 2006. They manufacture, trade and export powder, leaves and extracts, offering them to a wide range of countries.

Unfortunately, they cannot take orders from persons residing in the United States because of the problems they have had with packages being seized and destroyed. These difficulties have put a damper on their operations and it shows.

This vendor sells a range of products including epicatechin and a 15x extract they called Extra Radical Indonesian Kratom or E.R.I.K., for short. Their kratom strains include the following:

  • Bali
  • Green Malay
  • Green Riau
  • Red Borneo
  • Red Riau
  • Red Sumatra
  • Red Thai
  • White Sumatra

They brag about how they use the greatest harvested and drying techniques, but there is nothing to suggest that their methods are any different than your garden variety smoke shop brand.

This seller offers many of their strains for as little as 15 cents per gram, but you are unlikely to receive it at that price point since their resellers routinely jack up the price. For example, Herbees charges as much as €189.00 for a kilo.

The only viable option for ordering directly from this company is to do so with the help of a smoke shop proprietor or other retail establishment. If you split your order with them you will be eligible for bulk pricing which would make it affordable and well worth it.

However, it is far more likely that you will end up purchasing Bikhuk second-hand, meaning you’ll find it at a local head shop or as part of an online store’s catalog. If this is the case, expect a fair (or not-so-fair) amount of price gouging.

As I mentioned earlier, problems with customs has inhibited this company’s ability to accept orders from customers in the U.S. There are also unable to ship to Burma, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Poland or Thailand.

Those who have tried this brand have been plain about their opinion of the quality or lack thereof. One user writes: “I ordered the sample pack from Bikhuk in march and just finished it off. Yes, I can confirm it’s definitely kratom. However, of everything I’ve tried so far, it’s been the worst. I still got the effects, but they’re almost muted, like how you can still hear sounds with your hands over your ears but nowhere near as clearly…I found the individual strains (thai, borneo, etc) to be indistinguishable…”

Others have said that while their product is cheap the plant matter itself is weak and ineffective. This is exactly what’s wrong with the industry and illustrates the need for higher standards among independent business owners.

To be fair, I have only ever ordered from them once and I could not be persuaded to give them a second chance. I found their Green Malay to be inferior to every other brand I’ve sampled. It lacked the essential aroma I look for in a Malaysian strain and didn’t even look green so much as muddy in hue.

The taste is another factor that should be considered. In the case of their Red Thai the flavor was so bitter that I gagged as soon as I attempted a toss and wash. The powder was clumpier than week-old mashed potatoes and the texture was nauseating.

More importantly, each strain had a short duration and very little impact if any. If I didn’t know better I’d say that this is placebo grade plant matter that could just as easily come from the leaves in someone’s backyard.

Those who know what’s good for them would stay away from this questionable vendor and their seemingly bogus kratom powder. There are literally hundreds of suppliers that offer superior quality at fair market pricing. Don’t waste your time on something that’s only gonna disappoint. Be safe, be smart and be well.
