Red Bentuangie Kratom has gotten a lot of attention since it was first introduced to the Western world. This mysterious variation on the classic Ayurvedic herb has been generating lots of buzz on social media, but some of our readers are curious: does it live up to the hype?

In order to answer this, I’ve compiled detailed research on the subject and paired it with my own Red Bentuangie review and the public comments of experienced users. Read on for a comprehensive overview of this exciting kratom strain.

“What is Bentuangie Kratom?” is a question I get asked a lot, mostly by people who somehow think I spent my winters in Indonesia or something. While I am fairly knowledgeable on the subject, I have never personally visited the region in which Bentuangie is grown. But I do my best to fill them in nonetheless.

Bentuangie or Bent Kratom is a Mitragyna speciosa variant that is as puissant as it is exotic. Bentuangie describes a dark cultivar indigenous to the jungles of the Bentuangie Kapuas region of Indonesia.

This form of kratom is 7-hydroxymitragynine-dominant, meaning that it contains more 7-hydroxymitragynine than any other alkaloid in its chemical make-up. This makes Bent Kratom a terpenoid indole alkaloid-driven compound with strapping metabolic properties and a relieving aroma.

Red Bentuangie is the Bentuangie Kratom in its natural state. This dark red vein kratom powder is derived from the stem and veins of the native evergreen trees, yielding a product that is dense in mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.

Bentuangie kratom fermented by farmers results in a strain with superior strength, sturdiness and fragrance. Because of this fermentation, Red Bent is more potent and longer lasting than traditional plain leaf.

Fermented Kratom describes any process by which the leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa tree are harvested and then subsequently subject to fermentation. Fermentation consists of altering the organic matter of kratom leaf by means of extraction.

The kratom fermentation process is quite simple. Instead of drying the leaves, the skilled petani place their harvested materials in a bag. This bag traps moisture which enables the leaves to ferment. This technique of capturing moisture results in chemical alteration of Mitragyna speciosa’s natural flavonoids and alkaloids.

Fermentation produces substantial levels of robust indole alkaloids, giving Red Bentuangie a kick that most plain leaf varieties lack.

Some of my American colleagues stumble over this one, so I figured I’d set the record straight. Bentuangie is not as hard to pronounce as you might think. There is no silent “w,” as many suspect and the “gie” is not pronounced like the French pronunciation of “Guy.”

This word can be properly delivered by sounding it out phonetically. Red Bentuangie is “Red ben-too-angie.” Plain and simple.

If you feel silly saying it, you can always substitute “Red Bent,” if you’re into the whole brevity thing. Alternately, you may also refer to it as “Red Bee.”

So what is Red Bentuangie good for? Pretty much anything, at least if you ask me. Of all the red vein kratom powder on the market, I’d easily place this one in my top five. Its versatility is as impressive as that of Super Green Malay or White Sumatra.

This one’s extensive range of purported benefits include relief, restorative sleep, appetite reduction and time-released rejuvenation. Although kratom is not approved for medicinal use in the United States, many Americans have enjoyed this strain for its supposed efficacy in terms of mind and body.

Common effects include all of the following:

  • Mild relief
  • Moderate exhilaration
  • General sense of well being
  • Restful sleep
  • Soothing quality
  • Overall calm

The ideal method for brewing Red Bent is to mix it into a juice or milkshake. Most users prefer to combine it with fruits such as orange or grapefruit juice. Some such juices serve as kratom potentiators, assisting users in reaping the rewards of kratom in a timely manner.

This technique yields a quicker come up and a longer, more pronounced duration of effects. Many suggest taking Red Bentuangie and other kratom strains on an empty stomach, but this is ill-advised if you are taking it for the first time.

Beginners should always acclimate to kratom’s aroma before making any risky moves. Since the Mitragyna speciosa leaf is so potent, its effects many be rather overwhelming to the uninitiated.

For the best results, one should always stick to the lowest possible dosage and wait for the onset before taking a full (read: low to moderate) dosage.

The following is a general guide to brewing Red Bentuangie Kratom:

  • Threshold – 2 to 2.5 grams
  • Low – 3 to 4 grams
  • Moderate – 5 to 6 grams
  • High 7 to 8 grams

As we talked about in our strains guide, red vein kratom powder’s effects vary wildly from user to user. No two people will share the exact same experience and some will have minimal success brewing it.

Those with a strong tolerance may find Red Bentuangie to be weaker than it has been described. This is understandable given their capacity for handling a more intense aroma.

If you’re a seasoned user, you may want to start with a moderate dose and cycle doses from thereon out. To avoid any further tolerance or the potential for addiction, limit use to multiple moderate dosages on a sporadic basis and do not brew more than six grams in one sitting.

Some members of kratom forums have spoken out about the aforementioned unpredictability of this strain. One user on Reddit said, “It seems pretty hit or miss for most people. Personally, the chocolate bent is one of my favorite strains to use when unwinding at the end of the day.”

On the other hand, others have raved about its wild invigoration with one user writing, “I’ve had red bent that is very stimulating. It’s a tricky strain.”

Elsewhere, another user wrote, “For me, bentanguie [sic] is the most consistent effect. Puts me on a very even keel. I don’t get bothered by much! And don’t get too sedated, either. Manages my pain very consistently.”

In my personal experience, a reasonable dosage of 2.5 to 3 grams of Red Bent produces optimal effects, giving me the capacity for clear thinking and stress-free multitasking. I’ve used it as a daytime and nighttime strain, and found it to be puissant for both applications.

I would recommend this one to anyone who hasn’t abused kratom or similar substances since it’s a moderate variant that works well for those who aren’t chronic users.
