There’s been a lot of speculation about Kaya Borneo Kratom, both in online kratom forums and on mainstream social media platforms. The interest in Kaya Borneo seems to be driven by the same interest in exotic strains such as Red Horn Kratom and Green Hulu Kapuas.

The problem is, Kaya Borneo Kratom doesn’t actually exist, at least not on the mass market. While it is true that small batch kratom can carry some exotic names, the likelihood of Kaya Borneo being indigenous to the Borneo region of Indonesia is slim to none.

Borneo strains are often grown in the Bali province of Indonesia’s Sunda Islands, true Borneo Kratom is cultivated on the massive volcanic island of Borneo. The volcanic soil and the minerals therein contribute to its unique characteristics.

The Red Vein Borneo cultivar has a central red vein that contains high concentrations of mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, making for a strain that is both relieving and tranquil. Many have pointed to Red Borneo as the best daytime variant, possessing as it does a focused aroma and subtle duration.

Based on my independent research, Kaya Borneo is nothing more than a red vein kratom powder that has been rebranded to give it an illusory sense of importance. Customers who have tired to taking Red Indo or Red Borneo may turn to Kaya Borneo Kratom for a change of pace.

Unfortunately for those who fall into the Kaya Borneo trap, there is little to no evidence to suggest that this is anything new. Experienced users will recognize the name as an obvious ruse—Kaya is not an island in Southeast Asia, rather it is the name of an herbal culinary tradition in Jamaica.

While there is, in fact, a Kaya near Phuket, you’ll find that it is actually a restaurant and not an apothecary or kratom plantation. Much of the confusion may stem from the fact that Kaya is the name of one of Malaysia’s largest real estate developers; Kaya Borneo Group is a Kota Kinabalu real estate firm with interests in the Greater Malay Archipelago.

Yes…technically. Although what you’ll really be purchasing is Red Borneo Kratom that has been slapped with a more alluring label.

That is not to say that there is anything wrong with this practice. Aside from the fact that it’s a bit misleading, there really is no harm in vendors dressing up plain leaf strains with new and fancier monikers.

On the other hand, it is imperative that consumers manage their expectations when buying kratom. If you are looking to unlock a very specific effect, you will want to research the strain you are purchasing. This will ensure that you are getting what you’re hoping for.

For example, Red Borneo may be a great choice if you’re looking for mild relief and moderate tranquility, but if it’s exhilaration or invigoration you’re after then you’ll want to consider other options.

If you’re a residence of the United States there is only one vendor who carries Kaya Borneo that I know of—Kapua Kava Bar. Based out of Fort Myers, FL, this coastal kratom vendor operates an online store where consumers can pick from a wide selection of green, red and white vein kratom strains.

Like many online suppliers, they are keen on using hyperbolic terms such as “Supreme” and “Superior” to describe their cultivars. Again, there is nothing wrong with this on the face of it, but take it all with a grain of salt, lest you get burned.

It is also worth mentioning that this seller stocks O.P.M.S. Capsules and liquid kratom extract, products that have a less than savory reputation among seasoned users.

Those who are strongly considering a purchase should think about checking them out IRL. Their brick-and-mortar kava bar is open seven days a week and features a wide array of ethnobotanical elixirs including kava kava and kombucha.

Check ’em out in person and see what they have to say when you question them about the legitimacy of their Mitragyna speciosa strains. Legit vendors will always have clear and knowledgeable answers to your inquiries.

For the more cautious consumer who wants to know that they are getting top shelf plain leaf at a reasonable price, there are a host of top-rated kratom suppliers on the internet. Shopping online saves you the hassle and gas of motoring to your nearest smoke shop or filling station.

More importantly, buying online can eliminate the risk of buying unregulated and potentially adulterated product. The best kratom sites offer third party lab results, satisfaction guarantees, kratom coupon codes and much, much more.

The following is a short list of my favorite sources for Red Vein Borneo in the U.S. Each of these brands has been thoroughly vetted and are known for their purity and potency.

  • Kats Botanicals
  • Kraken Kratom
  • MitraGaia
  • PDO Botanicals
  • PurKratom

Kats Botanicals founder Justin Kats is the genuine article, a cat (pardon the pun) who’s been in the biz for longer than just about any other vendor. The longevity of his operation speaks volumes about the quality of his wares. Kats Botanicals carries kratom, CBD and other holistic botanicals that are backed by laboratory testing, lightning fast shipping and a money back guarantee.

Kraken Kratom may look, at first blush, like one of those brazen companies that put more stock in a flashy logo than they do in the purity of their plant matter but give their site a chance and you’ll be blown away by the sheer versatility of their collection. For consistency and variety, few come close to what Kraken Kratom does.

MitraGaia is my oldest and favorite supplier, one that I’ve been dealing with since back in the day when they were still called Gaia Ethnobotanical. After rebranding and launching their new site, MitraGaia continued to grow, branching out from plain leaf to proprietary blends and more. Their gold and yellow vein kratom powder is some of the strongest in the current marketplace.

Speaking of robust leaf, PDO Botanicals have emerged as one of the most outstanding new sellers of 2020, whipping up batches of their exhilarating Pink Bali Blend that will really blow your ears back. Their Red Borneo is among the smoothest and finely textured I’ve ever encountered.

Like MitraGaia, PurKratom has been around for a minute and they’ve cemented their reputation as a giant in the industry. That’s because of their sundry buying options and deep discounts.

Kaya Kratom may be little more than another name for Borneo, but you never know what might be in store for you if you give it a go. Each individual will respond in their own distinct way to this Ayurvedic herb.

See for yourself what all the fuss is about, but approach with proper caution. Be safe, be smart and be well.
