Purity and quality are always hard to come by, especially where kratom extracts and liquid kratom shots are concerned. The smoke shop kratom scene is cluttered with crappy products that claim to be pure and potent while providing little more than a well-concealed health risk.

In recent years, we have seen a rash of hospitalizations and sicknesses from headshop brands and, yet, little has been done to quell the ever-rising tide of new and bogus kratom items. Despite innumerable posts on online kratom forums about the dubious nature of such products, these weak and/or harmful concoctions continue to thrive due to widespread misinformation and a lack of public knowledge.

The same is largely true of CBD hemp products, many of which contain Delta-9 THC at inaccurate or ineffective levels. As most experienced consumers already know, hemp is not the same thing as marijuana. A crash course in cannabis education shows us that hemp is only legally available in most states if it contains 0.3% Delta-9 THC or less.

While many vendors will promote such products as cool, chill, happy, high or whatever adjective is most buzz-worthy at the moment, the reality is that their product line is all but worthless to recreational users. Nevertheless, they persist in advertising their wares as if it will knock your socks off.

Such deception is all too common in the commercial hemp industry.

This is why it is a breath of fresh air to encounter a legitimate full spectrum tincture that delivers on the promises of its marketing materials. Black Diamond Extract 1000mg is one such tincture, an alcohol-based CBD isolate that is stronger than a 20:1 Maeng Da Extract without subjecting seasoned users to the dreaded couch lock effect.

This Full Spectrum Hemp Oil Blend is the Real McCoy, a naturally-grown and ethically produced hemp tincture that is loaded for bear with CBD, MCT oil and lemon essential oil. No fillers. No bull.

Like other hemp coils and CBD isolates, Black Diamond Full Spectrum Hemp Oil contains less than 0.3% THC. Unlike its counterparts, it doesn’t claim to be anything other than what it is. The labeling on each bottle is clear and concise.

The company’s tincture consists of a 47mg/ml 33mg/ml CBD mixture that’s flavored with essential oil to give it a juicy taste that compliments its smooth and soothing aroma.

Whereas other brands purport to be manufactured on family farms without proper testing facilities, GHE pride themselves on submitting each batch of Black Diamond Extract to a third party for analysis prior to distribution.

What you see is what you get—a 30 ml bottle of 1000 milligram extract with 30 servings per tincture. That’s not bad on its face, but there’s more that you need to know if you’re considering a purchase.

The MSRP listed at is $120 for four tinctures. That equates to $30 per bottle, meaning the average brick-and-mortar proprietor will have to charge at least $35 to $40 per bottle in order to turn a profit. It isn’t at all out of the ordinary to see larger price hikes at chain smoke shops and gas stations. In fact, many convenience stores are notorious for price gouging.

In other words, you will likely pay around $1.60 per dropper of CBD isolate which is pretty lofty when compared to many of their competitors.

As I mentioned earlier, legal CBD hemp contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC which is an insufficient amount of Tetrahydrocannabinol if you are looking to ward off nausea or curb stressors. What’s more, Delta-9 THC is believed to be superior to other chemical compounds innate in cannabis.

Independent researchers have recently discovered the distinct differences between Delta-9 THC and its chemical sibling Delta-8 THC. Both psychoactive compounds occur naturally in the marijuana plant, but only one is worth talking about in 2020.

Delta-8 THC has been found to be three to 10 times less potent than Delta-9. However, Delta-8 has been studied for a host of potential benefits that aren’t necessarily associated with Delta-9 or other cannabinoids.

As such, Delta-8 THC has become a popular and accessible compound in a number of mainstream products. Unfortunately, GHE is not forthcoming about Delta-8’s possible presence in their Full Spectrum Tincture, nor have they offered details about its percentage if it is, indeed, a part of their blend.

On an unrelated but pertinent note, many users have turned away from CBD hemp products in favor of ethnobotanicals. Some have even gone so far as to eschew medical marijuana in favor of kava and kratom.

This is understandable given the many glaring similarities between kratom and weed. In the past, we’ve talked about the difference between kratom and cannabis as it relates to their chemical composition and prospective effects.

As some of you already know, the leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa or kratom tree contain no fewer than 43 compounds including mitragynine, ajmalicine and speciogynine. These substances extend beyond flavonoids to indole alkaloids such as the terpenoid indole alkaloid 7-OH (7-hydroxymitragynine).

By contrast, cannabis contains 66 cannabinoids and a number of terpenes. Alas, many of these terpenes are mild at best and play more of a role in the herb’s fragrance as opposed to any practical application.

As countless users have explained, kratom has become a viable alternative to weed and other illicit substances because of its diverse properties and the effects they’ve observed after brewing this remarkable tea.

Kratom strains possess a versatility that is akin to that of medical marijuana hybrids. Just as marijuana is offered in indica or sativa dominant variations, kratom is available in “slow” and “fast” strains. Some are tailored to active individuals who are seeking some much-needed endurance while others are more suited to the sleep-deprived who need to leave their troubles at the door and get some restorative sleep.

Bestselling cultivars like Maeng Da and White Sumatra are a perfect choice for those who are accustomed to powerhouse pot strains such as Sour Diesel and Lemon Haze. The same is not true of products like Black Diamond Extracts 1000mg.

Of course, some users may be attracted to such an item less for its potential efficacy and more for its flashy moniker. If that’s the case, you can always pick up some Black Diamond Kratom Extract from the fine people at Mitragaia.

This reputable vendor uses premium grade Maeng Da leaf to produce their 50x kratom extract. This robust 7-OH-driven alkaloid is infused with high concentrations of Mitragynine, making it one of the most cogent solutions on the market.

All things considered, I wouldn’t recommend Black Diamond Full Spectrum CBD Isolate. Although it may be useful to some individuals who are coping with minor aches and pains, it will have little effects on users who are anticipating a recreational high.
